COMPASS CENTER FOR FAMILIES, LARAMIE WY

This position is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families as well as grow personally and professionally. Compass Center for Families works with children who are victims of abuse and/or neglect, which fall within a special poverty category for foster children, as well as with families who fall under the Federal Poverty Level. The program is designed to improve and strengthen family relationships through support, prevention and education as well as case management to ensure that all participants have access and the proper referrals to local and statewide resources for emergency housing, clothing and food.
The AmeriCorps member will work directly with clients, scheduling them for their family supervised visitation and custodial exchanges. Members will be assisting with initial and ongoing case-management and complete intake paperwork for families. This position would be supervised by the Visitation Program Manager. In addition to this ongoing supervision, Compass provides reflective supervision for all program staff members once a week during the scheduled team meeting.
This positions requires members to complete 300 hours of service.
INTERFAITH OF NATRONA COUNTY, CASPER WY

Interfaith’s mission is to provide emergency services, as well as to fill in the gaps with basic survival needs and support services to those living at or below the poverty level in Natrona County. We aim to promote self-sufficiency and the ability to live independently. Our services include: Assistance with utility shut-off notices, Clothing Vouchers, Food Vouchers, 24 hour Emergency food bags, Fuel Vouchers, Steel-Toed boots for employment, Personal Care items, Diapers- Child & Adult, Minor Medical and Dental assistance, Prescription assistance, Assistance obtaining Birth Certificates, Drivers' License or State ID. Shelter Assistance is provided to those who have a temporary interruption or decrease in income and have experienced extenuating circumstances. Assistance can be in the form of one month's rent, a security deposit to gain housing, or a possible short-term stay in a motel until housing can be obtained.
The AmeriCorps member will provide support to the organization’s Case Managers and Executive Director by meeting with clients on their first visit and identifying their needs and concerns. The AmeriCorps member will work with the Case Managers and the Executive Director to identify appropriate support services and referrals and do follow-up with clients as needed to ensure their success.
This positions requires members to complete 1200 hours of service.
