The VISTA Member will be part of a dedicated team creating a dynamic and up to date resource linking the array of services of nonprofit and public agencies into a more efficient and coordinated network.
Duties will include updating records and identifying new resources, reaching out to mental health providers and organizations that serve veterans and their families, developing materials to market services to veterans, identifying networking groups in each country, developing materials to recruit and manage volunteers who will assist with outreach, resource identification and community collaborations around the State of Wyoming.
Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of social media and other marketing venues, ability to work as a team, and pay attention to detail.

The Wyoming Montana Safety Council’s mission is to prevent incidents and injuries at work, home, and in the community by providing high quality safety related education and information.
Help end opioid and prescription drug abuse with the Wyoming Montana Safety Council’s new Drug Take Back Program. This is a national focus program charged with ending preventable deaths in Wyoming and Montana. In this position the VISTA member will create a plan for marketing a new bag program that allows citizens to return unused medicine free of charge. This will require finding the locations, mechanisms, and tracking the distribution of the bags. Contacts and permissions will be created and gained for this project. Additionally, a database of all drug drop-off locations in Wyoming and Montana will be created should someone be interested in just dropping their medication versus mailing. We will be tracking the number of locations where bags are placed, how many are taken from the location and how many are actually mailed in for disposal. The outcome will be database of drug disposal box locations and an inventory.

You will be working with the Public Health Division of the Wyoming Department of Health whose mission is to promote, protect and enhance the health of all Wyoming citizens.
Join us as we work to improve the health of all Wyoming citizens. Work with the Public Health Division of the Wyoming Department of Health to support the development of partnerships, community engagement, and evidence-based strategy to address the identified priorities for the State Health Improvement Plan (SHIP). Assessment data will be used to develop an actionable improvement plan that requires partnerships from multiple sectors, including those that address key determinants of health such as education, employment, housing, etc. Understanding the link between poverty and health will be essential to developing a plan that applies a health equity lens. The VISTA member should have basic training and working knowledge in community engagement and partnership development. Ideally, the VISTA will also have training and knowledge related to identifying and researching evidence-based and best practice strategies. This capacity building will engage partners toward a common agenda and ensure the sustainability of efforts as work moves from planning to implementation.
